ROCHESTER — The Austin boys basketball team suffered a couple of injuries to its backcourt to win its 18th straight game when it beat Rochester Mayo (2-16 overall, 1-10 Big Nine) 64-39 on the road Thursday.

No. 2 ranked Austin (18-0 overall, 11-0 Big Nine) played most of the game without junior guard Zach Wessels as he turned his ankle early on and couldn’t get back in the game and Bret Lukes, who scored 13 points, missed a stint in the first half after hitting the floor hard on a lay-up.

The Packers seized control in the second half when Joe Aase, who scored 32 points, hit five of his six threes to get the offense going.
