The Southland boys basketball team beat Hayfield 65-58 in Adams Thursday.

The Rebels (19-6 overall), put the game away when Decker Bendtsen hit a 3-pointer to put them up seven with 2:30 left in the game.

“It was a big shot by Decker and it gave them momentum,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said.

Cole Kruger led the Vikings (17-7 overall) with 20 points and Mike Goergen had 21 points for Southland.

“It was a great game and a great atmosphere,” Thalberg said. “Kids from both teams played hard.”
