The Hayfield Vikings girls basketball team made up for a sloppy first half in a big way as they powered past Stewartville 62-28 Friday night in Hayfield.
The Vikings (14-6) held just an eight-point lead after the first half, but went to work in the second out-scoring Stewartville (8-11) 43-17 in the second half.
Jo Bungum led Hayfield with 17 points and Dani Wagner and Bhrett Zahnle scored 13 and 11 points respectively.
“We had a heck of a run in the second half,” coach Fred Kindschy said. “We missed a lot of shot in the first half.”
Hayfield forced 28 Stewartville turnovers while committing just 19.
