A little bit of Albert Lea art is coming into our neck of the woods.
The Austin Area Art Center will show work from 20 Albert Lea artists from Jan. 30 to Feb. 24 inside its location in Oak Park Mall.
The exhibition is meant to showcase work from the Albert Lea Art Center.
There will be an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 3 where residents can meet the artists.
The Albert Lea Art Center was founded by Lloyd Herfindahl in 1959. For many years, members displayed their art in various businesses. In 1986, the ALAC relocated to 224 S. Broadway Ave. The building, now on the historic registry, was built by Doctor Wm. Bessesen as a conservatory for his wife Beatrice Gjertson Bessersen, an acclaimed opera singer. felonies Wednesday in Mower County Court.
