Joe Aase scores 1,000th point in Packer win

FARIBAULT — Austin senior Joe Aase scored his 1,000th career point as the Austin boys basketball team beat Faribault (2-9 overall, 0-5 Big Nine) 80-44 on the road Tuesday.

Aase led Austin with 18 points and he hit the milestone on a post move in the first possession of the second half.

The No. 2 ranked Packers (11-0 overall, 5-0 Big Nine) closed the first half on a 12-0 run to take a 38-19 lead into the break.

Austin forced 31 turnovers in the win.
