Eleanor Hinchcliffe of Ellis Middle School took first at the 2013 Austin Public School District spelling bee Wednesday afternoon. In second place was Jackson Goetz of Sumner Elementary School, and in third, Riley Stratton of Ellis.

The three winners have qualified to advance to the Regional Spelling Bee in Rochester at 9 a.m. on Feb 12 at Southeast Service Cooperative. A total of 26 students participated in the District Spelling Bee.
