Blue Devil men start strong in win over Anoka-Ramsey

COON RAPIDS — The Riverland men’s basketball team opened its conference season with a 73-58 win at Anoka-Ramsey (8-6 overall, 0-1 MCAC South) Wednesday.

Zach Bunch paced the Blue Devils (8-6 overall, 1-0 MCAC South) with 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists and Marcus Ratliff had eight points, 10 assists and four steals. Glenville-Emmons grad Andrew Lau poured in 24 points.

“It’s a good win and we played real good in the first half,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “Andrew’s really getting more comfortable out there and Marcus continues to do all of the little things for us.”

Bunch was named Co-Southern Division player of the week for last week.

Bunch, a sophomore from Kenosha, Wis., scored 28 points on 12-of-22 shooting, while adding six rebounds, six teals and four assists in a win last week.
