An Austin woman who smacked a man in the head with an acoustic guitar is scheduled to be sentenced March 7.

Robyn Kay Halverson, 56, pleaded guilty Thursday to felony domestic assault. A second charge, for second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, was dismissed.

The criminal complaint indicates that Halverson had been drinking and became angry after the victim refused to let her take care of a 2-year-old. The complaint states that Halverson first threatened to smash a television with the guitar and then used it to hit the victim. When police arrived, the victim had blood on his head, eye and cheek. Officers arrested Halverson and took the guitar as evidence.
