27-year-old may face charges for assault, threats

Police arrested an Austin man Sunday after he allegedly threatened and assaulted two people.

The 27-year-old suspect may be charged with fifth-degree domestic assault by causing fear and fifth-degree assault against another.

According to the police report, the suspect was upset at several girls who were drinking in the 500 block of Fourth Street SW. The report says the man threatened and may have injured a 20-year-old woman and later threatened a 25-year-old man who tried to intervene.

The male victim said he was threatened with a baseball bat, thrown to the ground and injured his hand. The report has been forwarded to the city attorney’s office.
