Thousands of dollars in guns, ammo missing

A rural Austin man is missing more than $3,000 worth of firearms and ammunition after they were reportedly stolen from his truck.
The victim, at 520th Avenue north of Austin, reported the theft to the Mower County Sheriff’s Department at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday but is not sure when the theft occurred. The victim is missing: a $600 Ruger 30-06 rifle with Nikon scope, a $570 .22-caliber Savage Mako with a BSA scope, a $1,350 Volquartsen .17-caliber HMR with Bushnell Elite scope and a Cahr 9 mm pistol worth $500. Among the firearms, .308-caliber and other size ammunition were also taken.
The case is under investigation.
