A predatory offender who was allegedly on the run and became homeless was arrested on Nov. 30 and has been charged in Mower County Court.
Police arrested Amber Nicole Recker, 19, after they received a call about a homeless woman in need of assistance at a business in Austin. Police discovered Recker is a predatory offender in the state of Ohio and had not registered in Minnesota. Recker admitted she got kicked out of a home in Austin and had been on the run for at least seven months, to avoid potential prison time, according to the court complaint.
Recker was charged Wednesday with failure to register as a predatory offender, a felony. Her next court appearance is set for Jan. 3.
