Attorney joins Hormel Foundation board, replaces Hoversten

Craig W. Johnson, an attorney at Hoversten, Johnson, Beckmann & Hovey LLP in Austin, was recently named the newest member of The Hormel Foundation Board of Directors.
Johnson was elected by the board at its Dec. 11 meeting to replace Kermit Hoversten, who stepped down on Oct. 31 this year. Hoversten served on the board from 1980 to 2012, including his time as vice chairman of the board from 1998 to 2006, according to a press release by the Foundation.
“Kermit Hoversten is a highly-respected member of our
community and has been an active, committed participant to the mission of the Foundation,” said Gary J. Ray, chair of The Hormel Foundation. “His contribution to the foundation — helping Serve the needs of the Austin community — has been invaluable and he will be missed.”
Johnson is active in the community. He serves as a board member and former chairman of the Development Corporation of Austin, served on the Austin Medical Center Board of Trustees from 1999 to 2007, was president of Austin’s Rotary Club in 1995-’96, and received the Austin Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011, among other services and accolades.
