Mower County DirecTV customers can now watch local channels in high definition.
DirecTV announced Thursday the following local broadcast channels for the Austin area are now available in HD: KIMT/CBS Channel 3, KAAL/ABC Channel 6, KTTC/NBC Channel 10, KSMQ2/PBS Channel 15-2, KYIN/PBS Channel 24 and KXLT/FOX Channel 47. These channels were only available in standard definition before the switch.
DirecTV says KSMQ/PBS Channel 15 will remain in standard definition.
The HD programming is automatically available — although additional fees may apply — to all DirecTV customers with H20 or HR20 DirecTV Plus HD-DVR receivers or above, and a Ka/Ku band dish. Eligibility for local channels is based on service addresses within designated-market areas, DirecTV says. Visit directv.com/locals for more information.
