The Arc of Mower County

Happy fall.

Ever since I was a little girl I have always favored the fall season.  Truly my favorite part was the crisp crunch of the leaves as I walk down sidewalks or cut across yards loaded with all those beautifully colored leaves. I also love how the air holds a woodsy, piney, outdoorsy aroma filling my nose with memories to savor.

Enjoy the aromas of fall and the fun that comes with it.

 

A helping hand

Housing Access Services state-wide has assisted 566 eligible Minnesotans relocate to their own homes.

Yeah, this is awesome. Way to go team.

The need for this essential program is proven with the numbers. Just imagine how many beds have opened up in congregate care homes for persons truly requiring that special attention that is offered and the persons who once occupied those beds are now living their dreams and looking forward to the next plateau.

I know that I have said this many times before but here it comes again; I truly love my job and what I do.  To be a small part of such achievement inspires me, sparking me to become stronger, bolder and louder in advocating for what matters the most, you.

We can help you move. Housing Access Services can:

•Help people move to a place of their own from a group home or assisted living facility.

•Accompany you when you look for housing.

•Help complete rental applications and lease agreements.

•Meet and negotiate with landlords of property staff.

•Help with applications for publicly financed housing.

•Help develop household budgets.

•Assist with finding affordable furnishings and related household    matters.

•Pack and move your belongings.

•Assist with application fees and deposits.

•Christmas Festival: Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Event includes, dinner, dancing, prizes, karaoke and more.

•Third Annual Taste of Mower County: Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Austin Holiday Inn.
