Esther Wiste, 83, of Austin, Minn., died Oct. 28, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
Esther Lorraine Hardecopf was born Nov. 29, 1928, in rural Mower County to William & Rachel (Julson) Hardecopf. As members of the Adams High School class of 1947, she and her class mates would hold reunions on almost an annual basis, especially when her good friend Ruth (Walker) Halley would return from Florida. She married Paul Wiste on Oct. 14, 1948, at Marshall Lutheran Church in Adams, Minn. They made their home in Adams and later in Austin.
She bowled league and tournaments for many years in Austin and Adams before turning her interest to golf. Many remember Esther from the Cedar River Country Club where she was an avid golfer and helped with many tournaments as well as being the club house manager for a number of years. She was a dedicated member of the Adams American Legion Auxiliary. Esther enjoyed people and was always ready to play cards with fellow residents of the Oaks Condos.
