Registration for the fall/winter session is now open. We have lots of classes to choose from in a wide variety of areas. Some are purely recreational and fun while others focus on skill development and work readiness.

New this session is a Truffles class for the chocolate lovers, art classes for budding artists and beginning Mariachi. Back by popular demand are computer and business classes, AARP defensive driving, gardening, ghost hunting, quilting and more.

In our gardening section you will find classes on how to create your own fairy garden, how to prepare your plants for winter and how to make a holiday wreath. In our creative arts section there are classes on Hardanger, quilting, crocheting, painting, drawing, scrapbooking, soap making and more. In our enrichment section you can trace your family history, hunt ghosts, learn about hearing health, home buying and selling or learning to play the piano.

We feature an entire section on technology today and offer classes as basic as how to turn on the computer to advanced instruction on how to use software programs. Youth have a section devoted to classes for them during school breaks and non-school days that challenge their creativity and build knowledge.

Austin Community Education teams with Albert Lea and Owatonna Community Education to provide several trips each season to unique and exciting places and events. These trips are very popular and fill quickly. We are often able to add buses when a trip fills so we keep a wait list of names of people that are interested in being added.

Community Education strives to provide fun, recreational and skill building classes for people of all ages. We look forward to serving you again this season and hope to see you in a class or two very soon.
