Vincent Lee Kellner Jr., 60, of Lyle, Minn., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his home.
Vince was born March 2, 1952, in Osage, Iowa, to Vincent and Christine (Puffer) Kellner. Vince attended school in Adams, Minn., and then attended the Austin Area Vocational-Technical Institute where he received a degree in welding. He first worked near Rochester as a welder, and then for Hormel Foods for more than 15 years. Over the years, he worked as a welder and electrician for many companies, most recently in ethanol plants. A former member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin, Minn., Vince enjoyed farming, backhoe work and welding.
Survivors include his children, Travis (Liz) Kellner and Wesley Kellner (Mary Whitington-Worth), both of Austin; one grandchild, Piper Kellner; siblings, Robert (Lorraine) Kellner of Stewartville, Minn., William (Betty) Kellner of Rockford, Ill., Janice (Bill) Neisler of Hemet, Calif., Barbara (Mark) Bernhard of Fenton, Iowa, Dean Kellner of Minneapolis, Christine (Gary) Barth of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Emma Jean (Gary) Lint of Atkins, Iowa, Paul Kellner of Brownsdale, Minn.; sister-in-law, Rosie (Joe) Schaefer of Plainview, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Christine; two brothers, Lawrence and Francis Kellner; and sister Lorraine Frascher.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
