An argument over a vehicle allegedly ended Sept. 8 after one man severely injured another with a chain.
According to the Mower County Court complaint, the victim approached Dean Allen Thordor’s pickup on 30th Avenue northeast of Austin as the two argued over a vehicle. The victim said Thordor struck him in the face several times with a blunt object. A witness said it was a chain.
Thordor allegedly drove away when he discovered someone called police.
When police arrived, the victim was bloody, had a “severely swollen” cheek, swollen and crooked nose and numerous scrapes. Doctor’s later found the victim had a cheek fracture, nasal fracture and lacerated lower lip.
Thordor was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 18 and placed in the Mower County jail on $100,000 bail. He was charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and third-degree assault with substantial bodily harm, both felonies.
His initial appearance is Sept. 27.
