Austin area residents can receive a screening on Sept. 10 for risks of a stroke or osteoporosis.

Screenings, which will be conducted by Life Line Screening Inc. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, can point to conditions like blocked arteries and irregular heart rhythms, which are strong predictors of heart disease. A bone density screening is appropriate for both men and women to gauge the risk of osteoporosis.

Screening packages start at $149, with all five screenings lasting between 60 and 90 minutes. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 1-877-237-1287 or visit www.lifelinescreening.com. Pre-registration is required. Screenings are noninvasive and painless.
