KINGSLAND — The Southland defense made its biggest stop of the night to close out a 20-19 win in Kingsland (1-4 overall, 1-4 Three Rivers) in a football game Friday.
Kingsland had the ball at the end of the game, but the Rebels (3-2 overall, 3-2 Three Rivers) pushed the Knights back into negative yards and forced them to punt on their final possession.
“We played some phenomenal defense on that last series and we were very physical when we had to be,” Southland head coach Shawn Kennedy said.
Nick Schmitz had 207 yards of offense and two TDs for Southland, but the Rebels were slowed down by their 115 penalty yards on the night.
