A Monday afternoon car accident in Austin sent a pregnant woman to the hospital after it caused her to have stomach pains.

According to the police report, officers cited Roger Swanson, 55, of Albert Lea, for an improper left turn at the intersection of Second Street and Oakland Avenue W shortly before 3 p.m. Swanson allegedly moved from the right lane to the left lane in his Chevy Silverado and collided with a Dodge Ram, of which the 30-year-old, four-months pregnant woman was a passenger. A 27-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram was also cited for an improper child seat, in which a 3-year-old was sitting.

The Gold Cross Ambulance took the victim to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for an evaluation.
