With plenty of tradition and after almost two hours of festivities, Pacelli Catholic Schools has its new Homecoming king and queen.
Stephen Juenger and Paige Smith were named as the 2012 Pacelli royalty Wednesday night.
“It’s really cool,” Smith said. “It’s … amazing.”
Smith hopes to study outdoor education at Black Hills State University in South Dakota, and one day hopes to be a park ranger. She credits her time at Pacelli for her success and said it’s surprising how much students appreciate the school as they get older.
“You definitely realize how much you are a part of this school,” Juenger added.
Juenger hopes to get into physical therapy during his studies at North Dakota State University next year.
Juenger and Smith will join Andy Davidson and Sarah Nipp, Lyle’s 2012 Homecoming king and queen, at the Lyle/Pacelli Homecoming Parade at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
“It’s pretty surprising, actually,” Davidson said about his coronation. A National Guard member, Davidson will spend four months in Texas next summer after his graduation before attending school. He hopes to attend the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where he would like to major in some sort of engineering.
Nipp is also grateful to be named this year’s homecoming queen.
“It feels pretty good,” she said.
Nipp will attend Riverland Community College, where she hopes to get her general education requirements out of the way and study automotive engineering.
