The Minnesota Department of Corrections will inform the public during a community meeting about a Level 3 predatory offender who is moving to Austin next Monday.

The Department of Corrections, along with the Austin Police Department, will discuss the record and status of Robert Carl Goodew, 21, at a 6 p.m. Monday meeting at the Austin Public Library, 323 Fourth Ave. NE, in the large meeting room. According to a news release, Goodew has a history of physical assault and attempted sexual contact with a 12-year-old boy. The victim did not know Goodew. Goodew will move to the 700 block of Eighth Street NE in Austin on Monday, which is a group setting. Goodew’s crimes did not happen in Austin, according to Austin police.

Representatives from both the Minnesota DOC and Austin Police Department will be available to answer questions and provide safety information. According to the news release, Goodew has served his sentence and is not wanted for any crime.
