The local Kiwanis Club is continuing to help those less fortunate.

About 10 Austin Kiwanis members painted a home on the 300 block of 11th Ave. SW from 3 p.m. to dusk on Sept. 19.

The Kiwanis have been painting a home each year for the Mower County Senior Center chore program. After two rained out days, the Kiwanis were finally able to paint on the third scheduled date. Sherwin Williams donated the paint.

The Kiwanis have painted 49 homes at a rate of about two or three per year.
