Rich Peterson resigned Tuesday morning as Mower County assessor.

Peterson has worked for the county for more than six years, and oversaw the reappraisal of all commercial properties in the county earlier this year.

Commissioner Tony Bennett, who sits on the personnel committee, and Coordinator Craig Oscarson would not give the reason’s for Peterson’s resignation.

Peterson did not return multiple calls for comment.
