Bruins fall to Janesville on last day of NAHL Showcase

BLAINE – The Austin Bruins came up with just one shot in the third period as they saw a one-goal lead disappear in a 2-1 loss to Janesville on the final day of the NAHL Showcase in Blaine Saturday.

John Simonson gave Austin (2-2 overall) a 1-0 lead with a powerplay goal in the second period, but Janesville scored two goals in the first eight minutes of the third period to take the lead.

Nicholas Leher had 23 saves in the loss for Austin, which will hold its home opener against Coulee Region Sept. 29 in Riverside Arena at 7:05 p.m.
