FARIBAULT — The Austin boys soccer team scored six second half goals as they beat Faribault 9-0 on the road Thursday.

Jake Hagen-Erickson scored three goals for the Packers (9-1 overall, 4-1 Big Nine), Roel Torres had two goals, Abinyan Lual had a goal and an assist, Nick Brehmer had a goal and an assist and Francisco Torres had a goal and two assists.

Omot Okello, who had an assist, helped force an own goal by Faribault, when the Falcons kicked his crossing pass into their own net.

“It was a slow first half so we told them at halftime that we’re capable of playing faster soccer,” Austin head coach Jens Levisen said.

Austin keeper Collin Weisert stopped a penalty kick in the 10th minute of the contest to help him notch his fourth shutout of the year.

The Packers will host their youth soccer night when they host Rochester Century Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
