And the new administrators keep on coming in Austin.
Andrea Malo is the new Austin High School assistant principal, Austin Public School officials announced Monday afternoon. Malo will replace Jason Senne, the new Ellis Middle School principal, who started the job Monday after former Principal Katie Berglund left the district earlier this month.
“Andrea is an excellent educator that will be an asset to the high school administrative team,” Superintendent David Krenz said in a press release.
Malo has taught social studies at AHS since 1998, serving as Student Council adviser during that time, as well as the social studies department chair for several years. In addition, Malo and fellow teacher Lisa Glynn started the annual ninth-grade honors history trip to Washington, D.C.
Malo will be responsible for AHS juniors and seniors, along with other duties.
