Michael Todd Helebrant, 62, of New Brighton, Minn., died Aug. 23, 2012.

Michael was born April 12, 1950, in Austin, Minn., to Patricia (Deneen) Stevens and Bernard Helebrant. He graduated from Pacelli High School in 1968, then attended the University of Mankato and William Mitchell College of Law. He graduated with a juris doctorate in 1984. Michael married Barbara Cochrane Helebrant. He pursued many interests outside of work, his favorites being genealogy, music and history. He is remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and zest for knowledge.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, John Helebrant and Amanda Helebrant; mother, Patrician (Deneen) Stevens; father, Bernard Helebrant; sister, Rhonda (Helebrant) Gerber; brothers, John Stevens and Russ Stevens; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Denny Helebrant, and his son, Robert Helebrant.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2012 at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel, 612-781-1999, 2610 19th Ave. NE, Minneapolis.
