Things aren’t getting batty in Austin.
Despite a number of concerned calls and speculation that there’s been a higher number of bats and bat-related incidents, Community Health Director Lisa Kocer said things are normal.
After people called in concerned about rabbis and bats, Kocer called an area expert on the matter. Though it may seem like there are more bat incidents, it’s simply the time of year. The official told Kocer that young bats leave nests this time of year, and they’re inexperience leads to more run-ins with people.
“They’re young and dumb,” she said referring to what a state official told her.
