The Austin All-Star Eagles 14AAA baseball team has finished their season with a final record of 30-11-1. They competed the past two weekends, first at the Gopher State Tournament of Champions and ended with the Minnesota Sports Federation’s (MSF) state championship in St. Cloud.

Austin had a tough weekend at the Gopher State Championship, going 0-3 and failed to advance to bracket play for the first time this year.

“Our offense went completely dead on a hot weekend in Andover,” All-Star Eagles head coach Rick Stoulil said. “We’ve averaged seven runs a game for the entire year and only scored six runs in three games in this tournament.”

The last tournament of the year saw the All-Stars competing in St. Cloud for the MSF state championship. The Eagles finished 2-2 for the tournament, losing to eventual champion Minnetonka in the first round of bracket play.

“We played much better than the week before, but still did not perform to the level that we had played all year,” Stoulil said. “I think the toll of a 41 game season combined with all the traveling we did caught up to us the last two weekends.”

Stoulil said the team did have the experience of playing in some top notch facilities.

“We did get to play one game on Faber Field and our last game against Minnetonka was a night game on Putz Field,” he said. “Anyone that has played baseball in St. Cloud knows that these are two of the finest baseball fields in all of Minnesota.”

The All-Star Eagles took first in three tournaments this season, second in another, and finished third at the MBT state tournament.

Over the past three years under Stoulil, the team’s record is a combined 83-23-2, the last two years competing at the AAA level.

“It’ll be great fun to watch them over the next few years,” Stoulil said.

Team Members include: Eli Kaercher, Jason Stoulil, Brandon Bickell, Jake Reinartz, Daniel Bollingberg, Alex Ciola, Nathan Conner, Lee Bauer, Josiah Rohne, Dylan Gasner, Chris Webber, Trevor Stevens and Matt Clennon.
