An Austin man was sentenced to two years in prison for violating his terms as a predatory offender.

Dennis Ray Bruce, 32, was convicted Monday of the felony after police discovered he was not living at the address he listed with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. He was also convicted on Monday with fifth-degree drug possession after an alleged fight in 2008 in which one man was beaten with a wooden bat.

Police executed a search warrant at the 100 block of Second Street SE in April while looking for Bruce. After police found Bruce at a different home, Bruce told them he had been “bouncing” from home to home, according to the court complaint. Police learned that Bruce had not filed a new address with the BCA since May 2011.
