Festival Art Show winners announced

The Austin Area Art Center announced Wednesday the winners of the 27th annual City Purchase Award and Festival Art Show.
For 27 years, the city of Austin has purchased one piece of art from an area artist to be displayed in the city offices. This year’s purchase award winner of $500 is Bonnie Lee of Austin. Lee’s entry, “Ye Olde Opera” was not only purchased by the city but awarded third place in the professional category in the Festival Art Show.
The Festival Art Show was judged by Bev Cotter from the Albert Lea Arts Center. The winners for other entries in this year’s show are as follows:
The works will remain on display through Sunday, July 29.
