Jack Gillard, 83, Glenville

Jack F. C. Gillard, 83, of Glenville, died July 27, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, surrounded by his family following a brief illness. Jack was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Albert Lea, the second son to Frank Charles and Mabel Christianson Gillard.
Jack graduated from Central High School in Albert Lea, Macalester College in St. Paul, and the St. Paul College of Law in St. Paul. He practiced law and started several small businesses. He was a member and elder at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a veteran of World War II.
He and Barbara Louise Anderson were married on June 26, 1955. She passed away on July 16, 1977. He and Marina Gari were married on Dec. 18, 1978.
Jack invested most of his life in Freeborn County. He was an avid trapshooter and a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, and one of the founders of the Glenville Gun Club. He was avid reader of all kinds of books and was always up-to-date on current events.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara; a sister, Margaret Jane Gillard; a brother, Charles T. Gillard.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Marina; a son, Grant F.C. Gillard and wife, Nancy, of Jackson, Mo.; a son, Jason P. Gillard and wife, Cheri of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Anne Gillard Craft and husband, Bryan of Wixom, Mich.; eight grandchildren: Barbara Gillard and fiance Jeremy Morton of Kansas City, Austin and Claire Gillard of Jackson, Mo., Molly, Spencer, Pierce and Charles Gillard of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sarah Craft of Wixom, Mich.; and a sister, Calla Jean Bernloehr; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. Visitation with the family one hour before the service and a time of fellowship to follow at the church to follow. Burial will be private.
