Pheasants Forever is yet another group that has adopted a stretch of the Cedar River, and it’s looking for volunteers to join its effort this weekend.

Thus far, Pheasants Forever has gathered six people to scour a section of the Cedar River from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday but is looking for more help. Volunteers will float boats down the Cedar and fill them with trash, beginning at Sue Thorpe’s house, 26398 547th Ave., north of Austin. Garbage bags, boats and bottled water will be provided. Volunteers should bring boots and gloves. Volunteers can RSVP by calling 507-438-1752, 507-279-0374 or emailing justin.hanson@mowerswcd.org or sthorpe66@gmail.com.
