Dr. Zigang Dong, executive director of The Hormel Institute, hosted Thursday the president of the Cancer Institute & Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Jie He traveled to The Hormel Institute to learn more about its world-renowned cancer research in partnership with the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic. He is a professor of thoracic surgery and director of the Lung Cancer Center and Laboratory of Thoracic Surgery at CIHCAMS in Beijing whose own research includes novel work in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.

He also visited as a guest speaker for the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center in Rochester, where he presented the Joseph Austin McCartney and Ruth McCartney Hauck Named Visiting Professor lecture after an informal presentation about his cancer center’s research and potential areas for interaction with Mayo Clinic researchers.
