At the end of the filing period Tuesday, a total of five candidates had filed to run for three open seats with the Austin Utilities Board.

Board member-at-large Tom Baudler will run for his seat again, as will incumbent Jim Schroeder. Challengers Peter Handke, Vince Lynch and Tom Sherman each filed for a seat on the board also.

Incumbent Paul Johnson, who said at the beginning of the filing period he did not intend to run, did not file.

Each of the five seats on the board is a four-year term. In 2014, the board’s other two seats will be up for re-election.
