Driver hits bicyclist; victim treated

A 21-year-old woman was injured Saturday when she was knocked off her bicycle by a vehicle.
According to the police report, the driver, a 24-year-old Austin woman, thought the two bicyclists had stopped and waited for her to proceed at the intersection of Oakland Ave. and Fifth St. SW. However, the bicyclists continued moving and the driver struck the 21-year-old, who was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin by Gold Cross. According to the police report, the victim had injuries to her right ankle and hip pain.
The driver was cited for no proof of insurance, but nothing else.
