Lyle Area Cancer got a nice boost over the weekend.

The seventh annual Halfway to January Cancer Bash raised $5,873 Saturday, up from the $5,100 organizers raised last year.

“It was an absolutely truly wonderful event, said Tracy Schilling, Cancer Bash founder.

The money goes toward to total of the January 2013 Lyle Area Cancer Auction. The 2012 auction raised $168,000, which was about $30,000 more than 2011.
