The Austin Public School board will put the final touches on bidding for the new fifth- and sixth-grade intermediate school Monday.

The board will award a bid for the new school’s construction at its monthly public meeting Monday inside Christgau Hall.

The district opened the project for bid last week. Previous capital work, including the Woodson Kindergarten Center expansion and site preparation work for the new school, has come under budget and district officials hope the last project out for bid does the same.

The district will also approve a preliminary budget for next year. Board members will review the district budget in December to look at any changes made during the year and finalize it before next summer.

Board members will also hear an update on the district’s anti-bullying efforts and approve the Ellis Middle School handbook for the upcoming school year.
