Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton reappointed Austin resident Joe Swedberg for another term on the Minnesota Zoological Board.

Swedberg is vice president of legislative affairs and marketing at Hormel Foods Corp. According to Hormel’s website, he oversees all state and federal legislative affairs, regulatory affairs and packaging design. He started with the company in 1981. Swedberg is an Iowa native and grew up on a cattle and grain farm. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

His next term begins June 30 and last through Jan. 4, 2016. He was first appointed in 2007.
