AHS teacher receives outstanding educator award

The Southeast Service Cooperative and Synergy & Leadership Exchange have announced that a teacher from Austin High School, Lisa Sanders, has been named as a regional honoree in the WEM Foundation’s 2012 Outstanding Educator Awards program.

Sanders is being honored in the Teacher Achievement category, which recognizes exemplary teachers who support, inspire and assist students to attain greater learning, as evidenced by student achievement.

Sanders has been teaching for 18 years, and currently teaches 11th and 12th grade geography, history and psychology at Austin High School. She also teaches AP Human Geography concurrently with Riverland Community College.
