There will be an organizational meeting for any boys interested in playing VFW baseball in Austin this summer.

The player/parent organizational meeting will be Wednesday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Riverland Community College. Please meet by the concession stand area.

The team is open to any boys who haven’t turned 17 by June 1, 2012. Boys from the surrounding communities such as Blooming Prairie, Hayfield, Lyle and Southland are welcome.

If players are interested in playing on both the VFW team and their local Legion team, this can be arranged.

There will be a nominal fee for playing VFW baseball, but scholarships can be available upon request.

The 2012 VFW team will be coached by Joe Serratore, Preston Higbe, and Steve Serratore.
