Rotary looking to recognize local leaders

Austin Rotary Club is seeking nominees for a trio of annual community awards. The club will present Community Service, Educator of the Year and Public Service in Government awards at noon on Monday, June 18, at the Holiday Inn.
In addition to an engraved plaque, each honoree will receive $200 for the charitable cause of his or her choice.
Those eligible for the Educator award are teachers, administrators, counselors or other professionals who work at a school in Mower County, pre-school through college. Government award nominees can be anyone employed by a local, state or federal government office in Mower County. Community award nominees may be working in a paid or volunteer position and must epitomize the motto, “service above self.”
Criteria for evaluating the nominees will be: Completeness of the application; demonstrate positive leadership in the community; motivate others to excellence; and demonstrate outstanding work or volunteer performance.
