MINNEAPOLIS — Two people are hospitalized, three are in custody and a Minneapolis police officer is on administrative leave after what authorities describe as a “gun battle” in a downtown warehouse club district.

Sgt. Steve McCarty tells WCCO radio an officer spotted two groups of people at an intersection about 2 a.m. Monday and one person was firing a gun. An officer then fired his revolver and the groups scattered. Two men were injured, but are expected to survive. Police arrested three on misdemeanors.
