An allegedly drunken Pennsylvania man who drove his car right after an Austin Police officer told him not to was arrested and given a DWI early Saturday morning.

The officer saw Christopher Calabrese, 45, of Erie, Pa., walking to his car while reportedly intoxicated. Calabrese was parked in a reserved parking spot in the Law Enforcement Center parking lot, but police allegedly told Calabrese to leave his car and take a cab. Shortly after, the officer saw Calabrese get into his car and try to move it. The officer stopped Calabrese roughly 50 feet from the parking spot, where Calabrese pulled into an officer’s reserved parking spot.

According to the report, Calabrese told the officer, “I wasn’t going to drive anywhere, I was just going to move it and park it legally on the street.”

Calabrese’s breath test showed that he was three times the legal limit. He was arrested and put in the Mower County jail.
