A 25-year-old Fergus Falls, Minn., man is dead after jumping off Schmidt’s Bridge on County Highway 3 in Otter Tail County on Sunday, law enforcement reported.

Around 6:40 p.m., several agencies responded to the area after receiving a report that a man was missing after jumping off the bridge. The man, Daniel Anderson, was found about an hour later submerged in the water.

He was taken by ambulance to Lake Region Hospital, with first responders performing CPR on the way. Anderson could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office reported alcohol was a factor in the accident.
