Someone is playing the violin

As I listen to my TV

The soft sweet notes that I hear

Bring back happy memories to me

 

I sit here and close my eyes

And I can hear once again

My own sweet little girl

Playing her violin

 

The house is all empty and quiet

Now that she’s far far away

She plays in the symphony and teaches

Other little girls how to play.

 

Reminiscing, I close my eyes

While I’m listening to my TV

And pretend that the violin I hear

Is my little girl playing for me.
