ADAMS — The Southland baseball team picked up its first win of the season when it beat Fillmore Central (0-1 overall, 0-1 Three Rivers) 12-2 in six innings in Adams Monday.
Southland sophomore Lukas Anderson allowed just one hit as he picked up his first win in his first career start.
“Lukas pitched pretty well for his first time pitching and Trent Reinartz did a pretty good job for his first time catching,” Southland head coach Scott Retterath said.
The Rebels (1-2 overall, 1-2 Three Rivers) drew 14 walks and stole 10 bases in the win.
“We had some pretty adverse conditions with a strong north wind, but we finally hit the ball better and it’s good to get that first win,” Retterath said.
