Page Turners to welcome author Ron Handberg

Austin will discover the climax to this year’s Austin Page Turners event this week.

Author Ron Handberg will be in town Thursday, April 12, to discuss his mystery, “Deadly Reunion.”

Handberg was the general manager at WCCO news in the Twin Cities for more than 30 years. He retired in 1989 to write fiction. “Deadly Reunion” is Handberg’s fifth novel since then.

He’ll give a talk to Austin High School students at Christgau Hall Thursday morning, followed by lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. at The Old Mill with his wife, Carol. Handberg will discuss his book at the Austin Public Library Thursday night starting at 7 p.m. He will sign books following his presentation and questions. A reception for his talk takes place at 6:30 p.m.

Residents can talk about the novel beforehand at a series of book discussions on Monday, April 9, at the Coffee House on Main. Terry Dilley and Rich Campbell will lead the 3 p.m. discussion, while KAAL’s Dan Conradt and Sue Grove will lead the 7 p.m. discussion.
